My first step into the world of blogging.

It has been quite a few days (months actually) that I have been thinking of starting my own blog. Reading those countless articles in newspapers and magazines about this spreading-like-wildfire phenomenon made me question myself what was I waiting for. Believe me, it was just one how-to article. Yesterday in the Telegraph there was one article on how to increase the popularity of your tweets. Well, I feel this is an age old psychology. We simply won't do anything however fruitful it may be, partially because we are among the top ten laziest species in the world and partially because we are afraid we'll screw up. But once we get our hands on some how-to-do-it-exactly-right info (however off-the-mark it may be) we suddenly realize that we have got hold of some genie. So here I am.

But whenever I used to read those countless articles i used to wonder how much progress have we have made in communication. Gone are the days of carvings on cave walls, the scribbling on wood, messengers running on horses and trunk calls. This world has become a global village after all. All of us have come close to each other (after all tweets and scraps and whats-on-your-mind keep us informed of all the happenings)
Or have we come closer? I am in serious doubt. We may comment on our friends, poke them, slap them (online, especially the last one) and do all those things technology is going to offer but all this shall never give the happiness that filled inside me when we all used to sit in a room, have coffee, chat for hours and forget the world outside. I think we'll never progress enough.
